The Provincial Children’s Congress
As if children and education have not amply been my mind and heart’s constant occupation, Misha and I were invited to perform at the Provincial Children’s Congress last Friday. The whole-day affair touched and entertained me greatly and I had to hold back tears when the programme unfolded with orphans singing “God Will Make A Way”. It was such a privilege to be able to share music with provincial kids, most of who did not even know what a violin was.

It is not seldom that I lament the noticeable stagnation or regression of my musical abilities, but the occasion reassured me that if God still uses me as an instrument to inspire and give hope to those who need it most, then music, even in its humblest form, has given purpose to life once again. God will always make a way… =)

I know this is true, you’ve inspired me many times and perhaps I am no longer as pliable as I was in my youth. You are the strings, the instrument of the Creator. And there is yet so many pieces to be played. I am glad that you hear the calling as well as the music, you put on the wind. For you touch our hearts in such warm and meaningful ways. What a blessing, :-) you are!

thanks for the reminder Miracle. how timely this is… this may sound strange to you, but recently I’ve been… uhm, let’s put it this way, I felt like a horrible, untalented, dull pianist. but God’s been reminding me that even if those things were true, it’s not about me getting the praise, it’s about Him being glorified. so with that shift in focus, i realized, even the simplest music-making can be an act of worship to Him, if done with the right heart. :) i’ll post more on this in time…

I’m no stranger to such feelings, Mika, and I do recognize these sentiments all too well. Haha… let’s keep on encouraging one another. God has plans for all of us. Besides, you’re one of the last people who should feel that way. On the other hand, if these downcast views lead us to keep our goals in check, then this is healthy if not done excessively, I suppose. haha
