A Spell

Posted in 2009 Medley at 5:46 am by Miracle ♪♫

It is 2:30 a.m.

Nature beckons.

I am in the toilet.

Everything seems to be alright at first.

But then…

BLACKNESS.

I try to fight it.

“God, please help me.”

BLACKNESS.

I know what will happen next.

I recognize the feeling all too well.

I’ll collapse.

“I have to get cleaned up before I lose consciousness.”

I hear the flush.

I get up groggily.

I drink from the faucet.

BLACKNESS.

I wake up, slumped over the toilet bowl.

My face and legs hurt.

My underwear floats in the bowl.

I grope my way out.

BLACKNESS.

I wake up on all fours.

I crawl and knock on Dandi’s door.

BLACKNESS.

He carries me to my room.

.

.

That’s from someone who constantly insists that she would be fine on her own.

Sounds scary when we lose control of our facilities, of consciousness. We mustn’t take a second for granted. Not even the next moment, in the middle of the night, is guaranteed to any of us. This, to read and feel, is unnerving.

It was truly frightening, Jonathan. How frail and helpless we humans are! But I’m grateful that God was with me and that he protected me from serious injuries. My brother’s presence was a blessing, too.

Oh yeah… strange how we both experienced terrible cases of “unconsciousness” in the same night. I’m alright now and thankful for all the love and care my family and friends have shown me. You, your thoughts and dreams, be safe, too. =)

My entry’s title reminds me of Nina Simone… I put a spell on you… haha

    Let me guess.

You were sick. You haven’t been eating too well. You were bed ridden most of the time and because nature called, you immediately stood up and went to the bathroom. After a while, things started to get hazy and you felt dizzy. Things started to look vague and dark. You were falling into unconsciousness?

The latter part of your guess is correct but about being previously sick, la man unta. Fainting isn’t new to me man sad. Mag pa check up pa ko… but I’m always delaying that somehow. hehe Bitaw, one doc already thinks it’s migraine (a la Nietzsche.) wehehe =P
